What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A Comprehensive Plan is a long-term document that guides the future development of a county, city, village, or town. It outlines the community’s vision and goals for land use, infrastructure, and other aspects of physical and economic development. This can act as a roadmap for how the community may evolve over time. Per Wisconsin State Statutes, the comprehensive planning law (Chapter 66.1001) requires that adopted comprehensive plans must be reviewed and updated at least every 10 years.
